Licensing, Insurance, and Safety
When you join Leicester PKA, you’ll receive a PKA license and injury insurance coverage. All instructors are first aid certified, and while kickboxing is a contact sport, we maintain a strong commitment to safety. As a member, you’ll also gain lifetime access to all UK PKA clubs.
Our Legacy and the PKA’s History
Founded in 1974 by martial arts pioneers Joe Lewis, Tom Tannenbaum, Mike Anderson, and the Quines, the Professional Karate Association (PKA) has a storied history as a global leader in full-contact karate and kickboxing. The PKA held its first world championship in Los Angeles in 1974, bringing legendary champions like Joe Lewis, Jeff Smith, and Bill ‘Superfoot’ Wallace to the world stage. Since then, the PKA has evolved to become synonymous with American Kickboxing. Today, PKA Kickboxing UK continues this proud legacy, led by Principal Mike Haig, providing high-quality kickboxing classes in a safe and structured environment.
