The PKA is one of the world’s most famous Martial Arts associations. It’s Regional Instructors, Area Instructors and Instructor members maintain the highest industry standards for teaching, safety and professionalism. Leicester PKA members are dedicated to making Kickboxing a safe sport available to people from many different backgrounds.
PKA Kick Boxing is national in scope. Head office is based in the heart of the Midlands, Birmingham with clubs expanding all over the country.
Leicester PKA’s goal is to promote the training and education of the general public in the techniques of Kickboxing and the advancement of those techniques. Leicester PKA has established standards for the training of students in Kickboxing and maintains high principles for the training and certification of Martial Artists.
The Leicester PKA method of Kick boxing instruction is based on a progressive training system. The entry-level certification is Red Belt. A traditional coloured belt grading system is then followed all the way to Black Belt. Special Skills courses are available straight from Red Belt. Examples include Advanced Kicking, Competition Sparring (Full-contact, Semi Contact, Light Continuous), Street Self Defence and Nunchaku.
We provide a unique option that individuals can undertake Kickboxing teacher training early on from joining the organisation such is the advancement and high level of teaching within our Instructor Development Course. Instructor training is positively encouraged for anyone wanting a once in a life time experience.
Leicester PKA members have a commitment to excellence. They realise that Kickboxing requires special training to develop natural reflexes, to gain the ability to properly execute techniques and to acquire the necessary knowledge to prevent injury and teach effectively. They know that competent instructors can train people safely enjoy the sport within each student’s limitations. Without being overbearing, students are taught to develop and achieve confidence in their own ability. PKA-Kickboxing headquarters monitors instructor ethics, teaching methods and course equipment in an effort to uphold PKA-Kickboxing training standards.
